Lecture with exercise in summer term 2019

In this lecture, the students will learn the application of finite element methods for the solution of complex multiphysics problems in electrical engineering. Theoretical background along with real applications is discussed. Common problems are exercised using the popular software COMSOL Multiphysics. A focus is set on the solution of non-linear and time-dependent numerical field computations. Furthermore, fundamentals of multiphysics field problems and their solution using finite element methods are considered, e. g. electro-thermal problems, electro-mechanical problems, fields in semiconductors, or acoustic problems including a coupling of these problem types.
