1st International EPR-on-a-chip Workshop

March 1st - March 4th 2020 in Stuttgart

EPR-on-a-chip is an emerging technology that aims at providing the analytical power of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy in the tiny form factor of a millimeter-sized microchip.

Within the BMBF sponsored research project EPRoC, the possibilities of this new and fascinating technology are evaluated in the context of operando EPR measurements on energy materials.

The goal of the 1st International EPR-on-a-chip Workshop is to serve as a forum for discussing the possibilities of the EPR-on-a-chip technology in other disciplines, including catalysis, biology and medicine.

We recommend having the train ticket issued to Stuttgart-Vaihingen University. So you don't have to buy an extra ticket for the S-Bahn.

When you arrive at Stuttgart Central Station, go to the underground station in the station building (S-Bahn, marked by a large green S). If you have not purchased your train ticket to Stuttgart-Vaihingen University, you have to buy a ticket at the ticket machines near the escalators to the underground platform. You need a ticket for 2 zones. You can also buy a multi-trip ticket for 4 trips - this ticket must be validated in the small orange machines before each trip. Then take one of the S-Bahn lines from platform 101:

  • S1 towards Herrenberg
  • S2 towards Filderstadt
  • S3 towards Flughafen (airport)

The S-Bahn trains run regularly every 5 to 10 minutes. You drive to the university stop (travel time: 10 minutes).

Take the exit opposite to the direction of travel. The venue for the workshop is then within eyeshot.

When you arrive at Stuttgart Airport, you are on level 1 (lowest level) of the airport building. You go to the S-Bahn station (one floor below, the entrance marked by a large green S). Before you get on the S-Bahn, you have to buy a ticket at the ticket machines near the escalators to the platform. You need a ticket for 2 zones. You can also buy a multi-trip ticket for 4 trips - this ticket must be validated in the small orange machines before each trip. Then take the S-Bahn in the direction of the main train station and drive to the University stop (journey time: 17 minutes).

Take the exit in the direction of travel. The venue for the workshop is then within eyeshot.

Leave the A8 motorway at the Stuttgart-Vaihingen interchange and drive towards Vaihingen on the A831 or B14. After the tunnel, take the exit and turn left at the traffic lights.

Then turn right and take the next street on the left. There you will find the parking spaces.

Note: The University is located within Stuttgart's environmental zone (information on the diesel traffic ban). Please take this into account when you arrive.
