Since the Institute was founded over 100 years ago, the theory of electrical engineering is a key area of work of the Institute, which repeatedly has been adapted over the years to the current state of the art. Today smart sensors and its integrated interface circuits are in the foreground. There, both simulations of non-linear networks and numerical computations of multi-physical field problems are used.
The Institute has an excellent laboratory equipment, to cover the current working areas both in research and in teaching. This includes a modernly equipped measuring laboratory, as well as computer labs and simulation servers.
